About Us

Just a little about the two guys that decided to try and do something about the progressive onslaught overwhelming our state.

On the home page we state our objectives, #1, #2, #3.  If you join us, you'll clearly understand the recall goals and how we plan on achieving them.  Here you will find direct links (via the 3 'More Info' buttons along the middle of the page) that will link you to each page of objectives where we spell out our strategy in detail.

Ric's Radical Report

This collection of articles and essays will give you a better feel for our thinking and strategy behind these recall campaigns.

Radical Website Tour

The RADICAL website is a content rich, technology loaded website.  There's a lot to look at and a lot of horsepower to learn how to harness for a recall campaign.  This is your Quick Start guide.

District Finder Tab:

districtfinderbuttonMany people who are interested in getting involved in a recall campaign aren't sure what House and Senate district they reside in.  Click on the District Finder tab, enter your street address and zip code and you'll get your answer, courtesy of BallotPedia.

CO Recalls Tab:

corecallsbuttonThis is the heart of the RADICAL website and the beginning of the "Recall Symphony".  The Recall tab is where you go if you're ready to roll and join/start a recall campaign in your district.  To access, just hold your mouse over this tab and two drop down menus will appear; Senate District Listings and House District Listings.  Click on either one and you'll be linked to a master directory page to view a clickable list of either Senate or House members, each color coded to let you know their current recall status.

If a district below is highlighted in "Bold Red" it currently has a recall effort underway.  All other Districts that are open for Recall are in "Bold Blue".

The Radical Recall "Directory Deck" Carousel
Of if you like you can use the graphic module at the left of the page which is an interactive "Directory Deck" of all the CO Senate Democrat Legislative Ledger Cards that you can scroll through using the < > buttons to find your Legislator.  When you find the one you want... click the card's image to launch their individual Recall Page.

Radical Recall MobileDeck

If you are using a smartphone to access the site, you can take advantage of our mobile-friendly "MobileDeck" Directory of CO Senate and House Recall pages that uses the above Directory Deck, on your smartphone to quickly navigate to a recall page by scrolling through the graphic diectory and then selecting a card for viewing.

To access this on your smartphone, just select the Mobile menu at the upper left hand corner of the screen, (see below).

A red Mobile Pop-up Menu like this: homeselectbar will appear. Click on this to show the full mobile menu.

Then select the "Radical Recall MobileDeck" menu item to load both the CO Senate and CO House MobileDeck Directories on your phone, (they will "stack" on top of each other).  This is how we are going to "Stack the Deck" sort-of-speak in terms of pursuing our Recall efforts against RADICAL Democrats !

District Recall Page

colorecallhouse3banneryesClick on any name in the list and you'll be linked to the specific District Recall Page that contains a quick summary of the current office holder, as well as the 'Legislative Ledger' for that member, (See below).  At the top of the page you will see a banner that illustrates whether or not this District currently has a Recall Campaign underway, or if it is still "open" for sign-up by a Lead Petitioner and soliciting volunteers (see banner at right).  If the district does not yet have a recall campaign underway is will show a red "X" mark.

LeroyGarciaRRLedger5The Legislative Ledger:

Unique to this website, the Legislative Ledger is all about the big D, Data!  It shows you how that person voted on three key bills we chose and based on those votes why we feel that person should (or in two cases, shouldn't) be recalled.  See sample Legislative Ledger for CO Senate District 3 (Leroy Garcia) at right.

Also on the Legislative Ledger we've calculated how many verified signatures it will take to recall that candidate.  As importantly, we've shown how many votes the Republican candidate received in that particular election.  It gives important context to the recall signature number.  You see, in many of these races the Republican candidate received far more votes then would be needed in a recall campaign.  This is your lowest hanging fruit and gives you a better sense of the odds of successfully collecting enough signatures.  Where this is the case (more Republican votes then recall signatures required) you'll see a green checkmark on that member's Ledger.

Finally, we're giving a 1 (fair), 2 (good) or 3 (very good) star rating on those green checkmark members, indicating where we think our best chances for success are.  For good measure and a extra boost of confidence, we also show how many people in that particular district didn't even bother to vote in that election!  So in making your recall decision you will know;

  1. How the candidate voted on key bills.
  2. How many signatures will be needed to recall.
  3. How many people actually came out to vote against this Democrat.
  4. How many new people there are that you can go after for signatures who are registered but didn't vote last time.
  5. What we think the chances are for a successful recall campaign.

smallcontactemailformNow This Is Where Recall 'Noise' Stops And The Music Begins:

For each Recall Page, at the top of the page you will see the Recall Page banner.   It will have either a green "checkmark" or a red "X" at the top to indicate if there is an active recall campaign underway or not for that particular member.  If there is, you'll see the name of the Recall Leader below.

You will be able to send an EMAIL to that person directly from the website using their custom email button on each recall page that looks like this: emailbutton Once clicked it will pop-up a small email form (see example at right) that enables you to send an email directly to that Recall Leader.   If there is not a recall leader yet, YOU can volunteer to get things rolling!

In addition there is a 'Register' icon which looks like this on each page redregisterbtn  This links to the main Contact email form for the Radical Recall Website. This form is also located on the menu at the "Contact Tab" contactbutton

Contact Tab

If you would like to volunteer as a petition circulator or general volunteer for that particular recall, this is the link to use.  The Contact form provides a way to capture Contact Information from the interested Volunteer, as well as identify which District Recall they might be interested in.

The form is interactive and will prompt the user to input the variable information.    At the left is a graphic of the Contact Form that will appear when you click the Contact Tab button the menu.  Below is a detail of the Recall Information form section:

Your submitted information on the form will be forwarded to the Radical Recall Program Leader and he/she will get in touch with you soon.

So as a Radical Recall Leader you will be able to use this website to help gather volunteers and communicate with them individually or as a group.  Effective communication and timely dissemination of information will be critical to our success.  You now have that via RADICAL supported email.  And the best tools are yet to come!

CO Democrats Tab:

codemocratsbuttonBut for those that want to do some in-depth research on a particular member of congress, the CO Democrats Tab has already done the work for you.  Hold your cursor over the CO Democrats tab and you'll see two drop down menus appear; CO Senate Directory and CO House Directory

codemocratssenatepage leroygarciadetail

Click on one and it will bring up a picture and short "Bio Block" of each member of that chamber. (See above the first screen of the CO Senate Directory).  At the right is a close-up detail of one of the Bio Blocks.  If you want more detailed information, click on the globelink icon graphic at the bottom of their bio and it will take you to their comprehensive BallotPedia profile. (See example below).

We are also adding a Candidate CV feature that will detail specific voting records, committee's that the Senate or House Member are a part of and any specialized news announcements regarding the candidate.  So we can be motivated and as importantly, we can be educated on both the candidate and the issues.

Recall 101 Tab:

recall101buttonHold your cursor over the Recall 101 Tab and four menu items will appear.  The last two are game changing technologies for recall campaigns.  This is the 'Everything you need to know about recalls' tab and there is a LOT to know!  An hour or two of prep on this website can be the difference between success or failure in a recall campaign.

1. Recall Petitions: For those who want to read the exact recall guidelines per the Secretary of State.

2. How to Mount a Recall: This is a superb presentation on all things recall presented by Ben Engen of Constellation Political Consulting.  A must watch video that will open your eyes to just how much there is to do in a recall campaign, and has to be done EXACTLY right.

The Technology Game Changers for Recall Campaigns:

3. Find My Voter Registration:

This is where you'll find the Colorado Voter QuickCheck tool. Use it to make sure you're registered!  But the way we'll use this data will change how recall signatures are collected in future recall campaigns.  We're now working with the Pueblo Freedom and Rights group, who were involved in the successful 2013 recall campaigns.  Using this available data, they took it mobile, which allowed them to verify in the field in real time, whether the signature they just collected was valid or not.  It increased their efficiency tremendously and gave them the confidence to submit their signatures for verification with just a two thousand name surplus for any disqualifying issues.  We'll be deploying the same technology for our petition circulators which can be used on iPhones, iPads or Android phones.

videoportalpage4. Video Collaboration:

Interactive video conferencing is the second technology that will change the way future recall campaigns are conducted.  Geographical distances and logistical problems setting up traditional town hall type meetings are a thing of the past.  There will always be a proper time and place for face to face meetings, shaking someone's hand and personally saying 'thank you.'  But interactive video conferencing allows us to increase our reach ten fold, at no additional cost but tremendous additional benefits.

At the right is a screen shot of the Radical Recall Video Portal Page that will appear when a Recall Leader or their Circulators "Logs into" the Radical Recall site where they will be able to access the customized Video Portal.

We'll be the first to use this one-to-one video technology in a recall campaign.  Check out the write up HERE for specifics.
